Lectin

Lectin Free Diet - the Vegan Nightmare

If you never heard about Lectin, welcome…

Lectin is a plant’s form of self-defence.

There are a lot of plants that are non-edible and cause a lot of harm to humans and yet we consume them - Legumes and grains are the number one on the list.

Fermenting certain vegetables helps reduce lectin by 95% which is great, but of course, we know that the air, water and soil are polluted so the idea here is to reduce the consumption of toxicity as much as we can and slowly transition to fruit and then do some serious detox with distilled water so you can restructure the cells.
- But Gluten has to go and lectin is part of it. If those are in the system in high concentration your body has been stripped of the nutrients that the veg and fruit can provide and you can collapse.

Food to avoid:

- All “Nightshades” - they grow at night

Veg: Potato, Eggplant, Tomatoes *in moderation - skinned & seeds removed, Bell Peppers, avoid all Legumes, Pumpkin, Squash, Zucchini, Cucumber, Corn…

Fruit: Melon *all types,

  • Cyen Pepper, Red Pepper, Red & Green Chillies, Paprika, Coffee…*even cocoa hits the nervous system like coffee and to me for example it makes me sweat like crazy.

Replace with:

  • Potato > Sweet Potato, Cauliflower

  • Onion > Leek, Scallion (in moderation), Chive… Onion & Garlic are Lectin free but it’s not good to consume them if you are a meditator or trying to Astro project,,, Onion and garlic prevent you from reaching higher states of consciousness and go deeper in your meditation.

  • Garlic > Ginger

  • Coffee > Chicory root coffee, Beetroot late, there are a lot of alternatives but do deeper research on the lectin-free version

    Tips:

  • get Spiraliser - you can create sweet potato noodles. Pok Choi is a lovely veg now grown everywhere and is great with Leek and great with any kind of veggie noodles. If you are doing Zuchini - skin and remove the seeds is recommended as Zuchini are not lectin-free.

  • Fermenting veg like red cabbage and beetroot is great and is good for your gut.

  • Foods like Tofu are fermented so is traditional soya sauce and that process is very important. Now soya products on the shelves are super harmful because they do not use fermentation, soy products have to be fermented otherwise they mess up your hormones. It is wise to be aware of this. - That is how this transgender phenomenon that shakes the world is created - they mess with our hormones adding soya everywhere…

Low & Free Lectin:

  • Nuts: Coconut, Chestnut, Macadamia, Pecans, Pistachios, Walnuts, Brazil Nuts

  • - Almonds & Peanuts need to be skinned if you eat them, I think they are not on the low lectin list, all other nuts are high in Lectin - I don’t eat peanuts but what I do with almonds is I pour boiling water over in a cup and let them sit for 10 min and I do this process 2-3 times. Then they jump out of the skin easily and taste amazingly good. This definitely reduces the lectin levels a lot. Otherwise, yogis soak these two overnight and always skin them.

  • Seeds: Flax, Sesame, Hemp, Psyllium… Avoid: Chia, Sunflower, Pumpkin

  • Oils: Coconut, Olive, Sesame, Avocado, Macadamia, Walnut Oil

  • Grains: Wild Rice & Amaranth

  • Fruit: The best are the berries.

  • Fruits in moderation: Apples, Blueberries, Cherries, Nectarine & Peaches, Kiwi, Citrus, Plums, Pomegranate, Raspberries, Strawberries… All other fruits are oki doki

  • Veg: You want to eat especially green veggies like Spinach, Asparagus, Pok Choi, Cabbage, Brussel Sprouts,,,, the list is long and huge so you can do your own research if you are going to go Lectin-Free. - from now on I will be focusing on putting some yummy combinations together so you can get inspired - the food choices don’t have to be difficult.

On the Photo: Oven roasted Purple Cauliflower with a dash of olive oil - use your hands and massage the olive oil all over the pieces - love your food - the food must be handled right - there is nothing worse than a grumpy chef. You, really taking care about how you eat is an expression of self-love and a lot of healing comes with it. The food must be handled right.

Once your roast is ready pour over the dressing.

I use a mix of Lemon, Honey, Sea salt & Himalayan salt with fresh Black Pepper. Topped with chopped Pistachio Nuts.

Experiment - get creative 🖤👌
